How the day goes

08:30 — Meet at the farm gateCome to 1368 Huynh Thi Huong, Trang Bang. About an hour by car from District 1 — a Grab or taxi from the centre works, and there is parking if you drive.
09:00 — Understand the bee firstHow stingless bees differ from honey bees, and why almost nothing from ordinary beekeeping transfers across.
10:00 — Into the garden, open a hiveLearn the three zones inside a box — brood, pollen pots, honey pots — and read the entrance to tell a strong colony from a weak one.
11:30 — Lunch at our own restaurantVegetarian hotpot at Sac Mau Trang Bang, a 2,000 m² air-conditioned place at the same address. Tell us in advance about allergies.
13:30 — Harvest honey yourselfOpen honey pots, strain the honey through cloth, and taste it minutes after it leaves the nest. Each guest works on their own box.
15:00 — Choose what you take homeA live colony with setup guidance, or the equivalent in honey — most visitors from abroad take honey.
16:00 — FinishBack in central Saigon around 17:30.

Questions

Do stingless bees sting?

No. They have no sting — which is why children and people nervous around bees still take part. No protective clothing is needed at any point in the day.

How do we get there from Saigon?

The farm is about 40 km from Ben Thanh Market, roughly an hour. A Grab or taxi from District 1 is the simplest option; agree the return trip with your driver, or tell us and we will help you arrange one.

Is the day run in English?

Tell us your language when you book and we will arrange it. We have hosted visitors from the Philippines and from Europe, and we would rather set this up in advance than have you find out on the day.

Can I take a live colony out of Vietnam?

No — live bees cannot be carried abroad without permits that a visitor will not have. Visitors from overseas normally take the equivalent value in honey instead. If you live in Vietnam, a colony is the better choice and we will help you set it up.

Can children come?

Yes, and it suits them well. Under-sixes accompanied by an adult are not charged.

How many people do you take?

From two guests. For groups over ten, please book at least a week ahead so we can prepare a box for each person to work on.

Is the food suitable for vegetarians and vegans?

The restaurant is entirely vegetarian. Tell us in the booking notes about any allergy or dietary requirement.

How do we pay?

After booking you will see a Vietnamese bank QR code to hold your place — scanning fills in the amount and reference. We call to confirm the date before taking the balance, which you can settle on the day.
